Artistic Living in a Learning Community
Continued from page 1... these are just some of the classes students will be taking, others that count toward their major will be taken on the main campus. Students receive credit hours for being in The Arts Village. This is because the students have to attend a certain amount of extra curricular activities put on in the Arts Village. For example, there is movie night, various art projects like body casting, and bands that come to put on shows. The students also are an active part of Bowling Green’s downtown festival The Black Swamp Arts Festival.

New students often struggle making new friends their first year, but because most of the students in The Arts Village are new they are able to become comfortable instantly. The Arts Village is a great way for new students to be able to transform into the college life. The best part about this learning community is that you do not have to be an art major to be a part of it. Many students are art or theater oriented but all students are encouraged to join. The best part is that students can live in The Arts Village throughout their College experience. The program, teachers, and fellow students are dedicated to helping everyone succeed in school. Not very many other schools have programs like The Arts Village and it would be wise to take advantage of this great program.
