The Courthouse
tower is 195 feet tall,
and the clock at the
top, when installed,
was the 2nd largest in the nation.

The bell weighs 2,000 pounds and was first rung on January 30, 1987. Reaching the top of the tower requires an elevator ride to the courthouse attic followed by almost 200 steps up a steep metal stairway and ladders.
