Just as the vehicles have become more sophisticated,
so have the rules and safety regulations in place to
protect the drivers and fans. Each class of vehicles
has restrictions for the size of the engine and its
tires, its weight, appearance, and even the fuel mixtures.
The regulations and safety considerations haven't kept
the tractor pullers from bringing more and more powerful
machines to the event each year though. The tractors
give crowds roaring excitement with thunderous engines
that pull sleds up to 65,000 pounds. Spectators in the
stands (and from quite a distance from the fair grounds)
feel the noise and energy as each tractor revs its engine
and tries for a full pull.
The National Tractor Pull is put on each year by the
Northwestern
Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (NWOTPA). The scale
of the event and the number of attendees means, though,
that many individuals and organizations from area communities
are involved in making each year's event a success.

covering the fairgrounds and parking areas, and the
firefighters and police, providing security to safeguard
a good time for all. For the NWOPTA, planning and preparations
start more than a year ahead of each annual event.
Fans of all ages and backgrounds come to the annual
Tractor Pulling Championships to feel the engines rumbling,
cheer for their favorite tractors and have an enjoyable
time. The overflow crowds coming for the fun also bring
an abundance of energy and business activity to the
city of Bowling Green during the 3-day event. There
is much that contributes to make Bowling Green a unique
community, and the annual National Tractor Pulling Championships
is one loud, extreme, and fun-for-all-ages example.
The National Tractor Pulling Championships is an event
not to be missed. Enjoy the next pull and feel the noise!
